Positive advice about the Dutch Centre for International Cultural Cooperation
The new institute is the future assisting agency for the Dutch international cultural policy. Last week, the Dutch Council for Culture issued the advice ‘Succeeding in Culture; The Follow-Up’ on the grants for the Dutch cultural infrastructure 2013-2016. Among other institutions, the Council advised about the Dutch Centre for International Cultural Cooperation. The new institution is a merger between SICA | Dutch Centre for International Cultural Activities, Trans Artists en MEDIA Desk Netherlands. The organisation is pleased with the advice and is looking forward to the final decision about the grant during the proposal of the Budget Memorandum on September 18th.
The new organisation combines many aspects of international cultural cooperation. It amplifies and stimulates international activities in the fields of culture, media, mobility and heritage. According to the Council, the submitted plans showed this added value of the new organisation.
With the positive advice the merger enters a new phase. As of January 1st 2013 the merger will officially be in effect.
