"Buitenkampers” is a documentary by Dutch director Hetty Naaijkens-Retel Helmrich that showcases children of Indonesian and European descent who were forced to live outside internment camps during the Japanese occupation of Indonesia during World War II, and their mothers’ struggle for survival in a hostile environment. Two screenings and a lecture have been supported.
