long description

After the discovery of the wreck in 1963, evidence from artefacts and VOC records suggest that the survivors spent at least some time ashore. The fate of the survivors however remains a mystery. This project aimed to investigate the evidence for these survivors both on land and underwater. Archival research in the Netherlands was done to provide new information on the fate of the survivors.
