Recommendations

Even though there were not that many photography galleries in Turkey, there were still quite a number of Dutch photography exhibitions in Istanbul. Only Ahmet Polat ventured outside Istanbul, which is a pity because there is a potential to do projects outside Istanbul. There is a clear increase recently in both Turkish photography activities and Dutch photography exhibitions in Istanbul. What lacks are visits of Turkish photographers to the Netherlands and exhibitions of Turkish photographers in the Netherlands. Many Turkish photographers are enthusiastic to go abroad to work with international photographers, broaden their view and opportunities of their profession, benefit from the challenge of creating in a multinational platform and show their work abroad. Even established photographers such as the NAR PHOTOS Collective are highly willing to partake in projects where they can put out creative work together with their Dutch counterparts.
