Simon de Leeuw, Project Officer
Being part of the Development Team allows me to combine my love of culture with an academic background in European studies and international relations. Working within that intersection at this organisation inspires me, challenges me, and requires me to be flexible and adaptable. It’s a dynamic job that demands but also gives a lot of energy.
Since 2019, my work at DutchCulture has involved exploring the wider socio-cultural field in which we operate. For example, my position as a programme maker for the Forum on European Culture sees me researching themes within the shared European cultural space. In this way I contribute to building valuable connections and collaborations all across Europe; it is a personal ideal that has only grown stronger since I began working here. And also, it’s quite simply just a great place to work, full of colleagues who inspire each other with their passion, knowledge and idealism.
