Support grass-roots and awareness projects

The field of heritage is top down organized and raising awareness in the field is a difficult task. The economic perspective of the government is leading in urban transformation projects and the commercial perspective often wins from the historic meaning. Currently there are no grass-roots projects between Turkey and the Netherlands. 2012 can be a chance for local initiatives and grassroots to build up their capacity and be more active in the sector. Large scale NGOs should be encouraged to collaborate with local initiatives and grassroots during their projects.
