Too many and too much: update Dutch cultural policy 2013-2016
A total of 119 cultural institutions have applied for government grants amounting to almost € 395 million euro. This is close to € 65 million euro more than there has been made available by the Dutch government for 90 so-called ‘top institutions’. This means that 29 of these will not be eligible for funding anymore, as a fixed number of 90 cultural institutions has been designated by the government to execute specific tasks. Institutions had until 1 February to apply at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
