FAIR P(L)AY Aftermovie
FAIR P(L)AY – Closing the Gap was our fourth instalment of the FAIR P(L)AY series, discussing sustainable remuneration practices in the creative and cultural sectors. This iteration took place during Dutch Design Week, expertly moderated by Isabel Sheridan, Elia Kalogianni, Lorraine Hellwig and Oksana Savchuk discussed all the tough lessons they've had to learn when starting their careers in creative practice. We thank our partners within the EUNIC Cluster, the Design Academy Eindhoven as well as Platfrom ACCT and Creative Industries NL for fruitful exchanges aimed at building resilience in a sector often faced with uncertain working conditions.
Ukraine: an art scene under fire (Art Against All Odds)
Last summer, DutchCulture | TransArtists's advisor Lotte Geeven visited Ukrainian artist residencies in cities near the frontline, where she met with the hosts and artists who continue to create art against all odds. We invited five of these curators to the Netherlands. At this public event, they talked about their role during the war and how art brings a sense of community and solidarity. About how their daily practices have changed in the last few years, how their art reflects the war, and how they work on producing new cultural heritage while that heritage is under attack.
