Workshops or courses by Dutch photographers in Turkey
Despite the rising popularity of photography in the social sphere, the general public is just beginning to view it as a powerful and effective form of visual art. As more and more professionals enter the field, there is an increase in the number of museums and galleries where they can exhibit their work to the general public, especially in the big metropolitans of Turkey. The most eminent ones are in Istanbul. The number of collaborations with international foundations, organizations and museums is still very low so it would be a good aim to increase contacts and collaborations in this field.
Artistically it is interesting that self-narration and autobiographical themes are on the rise for the majority of young Turkish photographers which symbolizes the transformation of the Turkish identity from the community based one to an individual one of people from the current generation. This shift of Turkish identity from the community based one to an individual one can be an excellent theme for cultural events both in Turkey and in the Netherlands.
