Children's exhibition MixMax Brasil

Until spring 2015, Tropenmuseum Junior in Amsterdam presents MixMax Brasil. This interactive exhibition invites the public to discover the mix culture of Brazil. Brazil's cultural landscape has way more to offer than just samba, carnival and football. MixMax Brasil is focused on the rich culture of Pernambuco.

Wearing flip-flops, visitors walk the wobbly boards between the mangrove roots, ending up on a Brazilian town square surrounded by dozens of doors and windows, a boteco, a bottle cave, a gallery, a remixing studio and a roof terrace with an amazing sea view.

Tropenmuseum Junior

Tropenmuseum Junior offers programmes that are visitor orientated, aimed at diverse target groups and fulfilling a range of needs: there are programmes for school groups, individual children and families. There are two kinds of programmes for school groups: one for children aged 6 to 13, and one for secondary school students.

Each programme takes into account the different attention spans, prior knowledge and experience and the perception of children of these age groups. Visiting families can choose between a 90-minute programme for children or a guided tour of the exhibition where children and parents stay together.
