Cyro Baptista & his Banquet of the Spirits: Rhythm Awareness Workshop!

Banquet of the Spirits is named after the Brazilian cultural movement Anthropofagia from the twenties. This movement taught that Brazilian culture emerged from all the good that comes from outside or elsewhere and is 'digested', or mixed, with the proper culture. Just like the canibalistic indians did; they ate their enemies to obtain their strenghts. Therefore Brazilian culture is a big melting pot. During this workshop at the Wereldmuziekschool, the participants are shown different interpretations of the experience of music.
