Delegation from across China will visit Dutch Design Week 2019
A six-membered delegation consisting of design academy professors, curators and journalists across China will visit the Netherlands from 16th to 21st October on the ocassion of Dutch Design Week 2019. They will start the professional work visit by learning about design collections and current exhibition projects at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Design Museum Den Bosch and the Textile Museum in Tilburg. After that they will dive into a series of tailor-made programmes, visits and discussions at Dutch Design Week 2019 in Eindhoven, including some on-site studio visits to Dutch designers such as Bart Hess, Atelier NL.
This visitors programme is initiated by the Dutch Embassy in Beijing and facilitated by DutchCulture in close consultation with Het Nieuwe Instituut and Dutch Design Foundation. It is also an extension of this year's Dutch programme at Beijng Design Week (sept. 2019). With this incoming mission, we hope to bridge the two prestigious Design Weeks in the Netherlands and China, bring the creative fields from the two countries closer and more familiar with each other, and to stimulate future-oriented sustainable collaborations on various themes, e.g. sustainablity, circular economy, bio-tech.
As one special programme with the six visitors' presence, on Sunday 20th Oct 10.30-11.00, a talk and network event will be held at Eindhoven's MU artspace to present Your Case My Case, the publication about Dutch project at Beijing Design Week 2019, to be followed by the Creative Industries Fund NL's new talent presentation The Scene Is Here.
