Dutch presence at Rio Music Conference 2014

Rio Music Conference (RMC) – the largest gathering of electronic music and entertainment in Latin America - was established in 2009, when the market was still fragmented and dispersed, but already was responsible for an income of 3 billion dollars per year. In only four years, RMC has unified those fragments to become Latin Americans’ center of convergence for the industry, with outstanding organization and support from the main professionals of the industry.

RMC Main Edition from 19 February until 4 March 2014

Before and during Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro, RMC brings to the city an impressive 14 days event in which it gathers the major current issues facing the electronic dance music industry as well as future trends to be discussed. This is the full schedule:

From 19-21 February > Rio Music Conference's Business Activities & Academic Activities: three days of workshops, panels, conferences, debates, special presentations, showcases and networking areas. It is also when the RMC Annual is released and the RMC Awards Ceremony takes place.

From 19 February until 4 March > RMC Club Week Rio: when several clubs from Rio host parallel events with RMC’s invited DJs and Artists. All delegates who subscribe to the Business Activities will have free entrance to the events of the participant dance clubs and bars. 

February 22 + 28 February until 4 March > RMC Carnaval Festival: SIX nights of parties at Marina da Glória with the world’s main headliners during the very unique carnival period!

Dutch speakers at the conference are: Eelke Kleijn (DJ, producer), Irfan van Ewijk (co-founder ID&T), Richard Zijlma (general manager Amsterdam Dance Event),Rogier van Twuijver (co-founder Epiqurus), Saul van Stapele (journalist), Simone Tettero (head of production Amsterdam Dance Event)

Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren will perform on 4 March at RMC Carnaval Festival.
