First Meeting Rui Tian in MAAS Artist Residence

FIRST MEETING

At 15:00 hour Rui Tian will explain her work in an interview

 You and your friends are cordially invited to welcome  Rui Tian and to toast her MAAS artist in residence period which will last from December 15th 2011 until March 13th 2012.

When I close my eyes

"My work is my pills. Everybody is a patient in a way. There is so much information and rubbish everywhere. So everybody needs a placebo to make him-self feel comfortable and keeps him in balance. Such as songs, keeping working, movies and friends. I am interested in the interspace between my dreams and reality. That’s where the work comes out. It could be a bridge which connects the two different worlds or a power which destroys both sides. The outside eyes are used to observe the surroundings and the inner eyes are used to feel and shoot my desire and subconscious. When I close my outside eyes my inner eyes open themselves. Something comes out naturally from the interspace between. It can be a short poem, an image, an action or other things which is hard to describe. Than I try to use different media to give them an extraordinary journey to make them live. Each work is part of the journey and I can only start but can’t finish it"    Rui Tian, Nov. 2011
