Made In Brazil

Entering unmarked trails, the Nieuw Ensemble (Dutch ensemble from Amsterdam) called for entries by Brazilian composers in a 2009 competition. The response was overwhelming: from all over the country composers submitted their work, ninety entries in total, most of them especially written for the ensemble. This resulted in two diverse premiere programs. As part of the Brasil Festival Amsterdam, the Nieuw Ensemble launched a second competition. The winning works will be at forefront during these two concerts, accompanied by three new pieces of the remarkable talents of the first competition.
