O Jardim - Theatre from Brazil

O Jardim (The Garden) from Brazilian theatre company Companhia Hiato gives a youthful perspective on the fragility of the memories that we invent, the stories that do not abandon us, that we have lost along the way, that we have collected in our most secret boxes.

O Jardim premiered in Brazil in May 2011 (after 13 months of research, with a grant of Fomento ao Teatro). After one season in São Paulo, several shows in Rio de Janeiro, and some festivals (Recife and Brasilia), the spectacle appeared on all lists of Best Plays in Theaters in the São Paulo press. It has been described as a "memorable" spectacle (Bravo!) and director Leonardo Moreira was described as "the most promising name of today" (Veja São Paulo). The play won the Governor of State Award and Leonardo Moreira won the APCA Award for directing. His work collected 18 other nominations for the most respected awards in Brazil.
