ACT Shanghai International Theatre Festival

ACT Shanghai International Theatre Festival (ACT), hosted by Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre (SDAC) in its various venues, is an annual platform presenting international and Chinese performing arts in Shanghai. It not only introduces exciting contemporary theatre productions and performances from around the world to local audiences, but also provides a platform for arts professionals home and abroad to discover inspiring international works.

Starting in 2005, each edition celebrates a unique theme and welcomes international artists from around the world to Shanghai. In the past decade, works from over fifty countries or areas have been presented at the festival, reaching near half million audiences in total.

Besides the main programme, ACT Festival also organises outreach activities such as workshops, post-show talks, seminars and community events, all of which create opportunities for artists and audience to exchange ideas and to get inspired.
