Call for 2012 plans by Dutch Embassy Beijing

The Head of the Press & Cultural Department of the Dutch Embassy in Beijing has called for information about Dutch-Chinese events in 2012.

In 2012, the Netherlands will celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations with China. A budget for extra cultural events, funded by the Embassy, is unlikely at this stage, but Embassy wants to use the opportunity to generate more attention for the events already planned to come to China.

The Embassy is developing PR material and a logo for the anniversary, and would be happy to lend this to suitable events taking place next year. They are expecting high officials from the Netherlands on several occasions. It is useful to know in advance if this can be combined with cultural activities in town.

The Embassy would be most grateful if you could provide them with names and dates of cultural events that will take place in China in 2012. They are also happy to receive any information on not yet confirmed plans in China for 2012.

Deadline for the information is 19 December 2011. The Embassy will send out a press release about the events in 2012 at the beginning of January.
