The museum Pavilhão das Culturas Brasileiras (Pavilion of Brazilian Culture) posted on their blog that in the 21st Century most Brazilians ignores the huge diversity of Indian population living in the country. It is estimated that by the time the Europeans arrived in Brazil, there were more than 1.000 communities, with a population between 2 to 4 million. Nowadays there are only 238 communities, speaking more than 180 different languages.
