Looking for Brazilian authors at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2013

Around seventy Brazilian authors were present at the Frankfurter Buchmesse or Frankfurt Book Fair 2013, since Brazil was this year’s Guest of Honour. Different cultural events, activities and lectures were held on Brazil, to present the wealth, diversity and vibrancy of its cultural creativity, characteristics that are similarly reflected in the country’s literature. 

Judith Uyterlinde, Dutch writer and curator of the international literature festival Writers Unlimited in The Hague, went to the Frankfurter Buchmesse and wrote a blog about her experiences. “I am interested to meet Brazilian writers present at the book fair: maybe there will be an author we can invite at our literature festival. Someone who writes magnificent books that we do not know yet and who is able to express himself on stage as well, preferably in understandable English.”
