Open call DutchCulture Database 2020 – COVID-19 adaption
As we prepare to collect the Dutch cultural activities abroad for the first half of 2020, we are faced with the consequences of the COVID-19 virus restrictions. Worldwide, gatherings of people have been limited to stop the spreading of the virus and the impact on international cultural exchange is widespread. Our data collection of 2020 will inevitably be different than previous years, anticipating many months of international immobility. To adjust our data collection to the extraordinary circumstances we are extending our usual call for international activities by Dutch and Dutch-based cultural organisations, to include cancelled and online activities.
Purpose
The DutchCulture Database aims to be a research source and network tool for international cultural exchange. In 2020 and beyond, we plan to assess the impact of the coronavirus crisis on the international cultural field and understand the precise challenges that artists and organisations are facing. For this we need your input. This information will inform the government and policy makers about the impact on the cultural field and strengthen our plea for support. Your information is key to helping us and other organisations adapt to meet the current needs of the field. We are grateful for any input and welcome your thoughts on our research.
Besides a call for all international activities of Dutch and Dutch-based artists and cultural organisations that did take place, we hereby:
- Call for information on cancelled international activities of Dutch and Dutch-based artists and cultural organisations; all the international tours, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, etc. that would have taken place if not for the coronavirus restrictions.
- Call for information on international activities of Dutch and Dutch-based artists and cultural organisations that took place online.
- Call for information on new online cultural and creative international activities of Dutch and Dutch-based artists and cultural organisations, that arise from the coronavirus restrictions.
Information
Please send us information on any international cultural activities that you have been or will be involved with in 2020, both online and offline, as well as any cancelled international activities that you were involved with. If you have any questions about this call or the DutchCulture Database, please email us.
