Report South Korea meeting available
DutchCulture hosted the latest in its series of country meetings on November 11 2014, this time exploring South Korea within a cultural context.
The audience varied from professionals with established links with Asia and South Korea, to those that were merely curious.
The following speakers spoke about recent developments in South Korea: Martijn van Lith (Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Seonghee Kim (Director Asian Arts Theatre), Wouter Hamel (Singer/songwriter), Rob Knijn (Artistic leader, Heden), Samira Boon (Designer Studio Samira Boon) and Peter van Bueren (Film Critic).
The six speakers all had a different approach to the subject matter yet this formed a clear narrative resulting in not only an impression of opportunities available in South Korea from a cultural perspective, but also a vivid sketch of the country’s identity and cultural norms.
