Taking up positions abroad: Greco, Scholten and Van 't Zelfde

Two Dutch choreographers and one Dutch-Finnish curator have been appointed by cultural institutions abroad.

Dutch Choreographers appointed Artistic Directors Ballet National de Marseille
Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten, directors of the Amsterdam City Dance Company ICKamsterdam have been appointed artistic directors of the Ballet National de Marseille by French Minister of Culture Aurélie Filippetti.

At the request of the French Ministry, Greco and Scholten wrote a plan for the future of the company that follows on from their ambition to engage in enduring and equal collaborations with other European top institutions, reaching out from ICKamsterdam, their platform for contemporary dance. The plan for the future of the Ballet National de Marseille proposed by Greco and Scholten envisages an intensive collaboration between the two institutions.

He has collaborated with leading institutions and festivals worldwide and has led numerous cross-disciplinary programmes that scrutinize contemporary society in a digital age, a theme similarly explored by Lighthouse.
