visitors program
During the past months several Brazilian visitors were in The Netherlands on the framework of the Visitors Program by Sica, Central de Cultura, and other sector Institutes. The main objective of these visits is getting to know each other better and explore possibilities for future cooperation. In this session you can know who was part of this Visitors Program.
Juca Ferreira
We had the honor to host Juca Ferreira at the Brazil Today network dinner on the 29th of March in the LLoyd's hotel, a cooperation of the Central de Cultura programme and SICA. Juca Ferreira was the Minister of Culture under the second round of Lula’s government. He is well known for innovative policies and stimulating cultural emancipation of all citizens . One of his big achievements in this area was the development of the Pontos de Cultura, a network of more than 2000 cultural participation projects throughout Brazil. He further developed the Lei Rouanet, a tax reduction law in order to stimulate corporate business to invest in cultural activities. Photos of the event here>>>

Fernando Spaziani and Luiz Rossato (Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil)
Last april SICA welcomed Fernando Spaziani and Luiz Rossato of the CCBB Sao Paulo and CCBB Brasília. Fernando and Luiz were on an orientation trip to The Netherlands for ideas for possible exhibitions or events. The CCBBs are large scale cultural centres founded and supported by the Banco do Brasil. They are immensely popular cultural venues in Brazil. Last year they programmed the exhibition Escher - Day and Night which exceeded in topping the worldwide chart as the most visited exhibition in 2011. So who knows, next year Van Gogh, Rembrandt or Koolhaas in CCBB?
