Vivo arte.mov Festival 2012 theme: Displacement

Displacement is a characteristic of the contemporary world, which is redesigning not only the way people communicate, but also social, financial and technological flows. This phenomenon is the axis of the arte.mov Festival 2012, which will go to programming in audiovisual thematic exhibitions, exhibition of works instalativas, interventions in public space and audiovisual performances.

To account for the broad spectrum of issues and possible approaches to understanding contemporary forms of dispossession we will invite guests like Robert Kronenburg (NL), Jorge La Ferla, Massimo Canevacci, LAB Garage, André Brazil, Patricia Moran, Cicero Inacio Silva, Monica Bello, Gustavo Spolidoro Vassão and Caio. Also, artists like Christina Kubisch (Eltrick Wlaks), Michael Nitsche (Urban Remix), Julian Oliver (Artvertiser) and Ken Rinaldo (Privacy Robots) and others, will share locative works, sound experiences or premises with the public in Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre and Belem. These artworks will revolve around three ideas: "Etnopanoramas" seeks to draw an archeology of the phenomena currently underway in the culture of mobility. "Midiapanoramas" discusses how communication technologies are redrawing the circuit of the media. "Tecnopanoramas" discusses the processes of emerging technologies with the emergence of portable high accessibility and low cost.

In Belo Horizonte, the arte.mov Festival will be held between 25 and 29 April at the Palais des Arts, in partnership with Cidade Eletronika and Simbio.
