International visitors: Brazilian Institute of Museums delegation
Museum experts of the Brazilian Institute of Museums or Instituto Brasileiro de Museus (IBRAM) visit the Netherlands to prospect partnerships and exchange knowledge on innovative and sustainable strategies that contribute to the research, preservation and exhibition of museum collections:
- Renata Silva - Head of Corporate Management at IBRAM
- Priscila Borges - Head of Museum Studies and Economics at IBRAM
- Patrícia Albernaz - Coordinator of Strategies and Sustainability at IBRAM
- Rosângela Nuto - Coordinator of Product Marketing at IBRAM
IBRAM supports its museums to guarantee the right to memory, access to cultural heritage and respect for diversity in Brazil. It is responsible for the National Museums Policy and manages 30 Brazilian museums directly.
The visit includes expert meetings on museum policies and copyright & museums, with the Dutch Museums Association, knowledge institute for culture & digitization DEN, and visits to sculpture Museum Beelden aan Zee, Open Air Museum in Arnhem, Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle and Story House Belvédère in Rotterdam among others.
On 13 December 16:00 hrs the IBRAM delegation presents its work at the public culture talk: How to make Brazilian museums future-proof. The visit is jointly being organised by DutchCulture and the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands.
