International visitors: Keituletse Gwangwa and Ashraf Johaardien (SA)

From 5 to 9 November 2018, Keituletse Gwangwa (Windybrow Arts Centre) and Ashraf Johaardien (National Arts Festival) are visiting the Netherlands.

Keituletse Gwangwa is head of the Windybrow Arts Centre in Johannesburg. The centre has recently been adopted by The Market Theatre to become the Pan African Centre of the Arts, with great emphasis on community development and aiming to embody the diverse cultural identity of the area. During the visit Keituletse Gwangwa wishes to gather knowledge and explore possible partnerships with similar cultural spaces.

Ashraf Johaardien is executive producer of the National Arts Festival in South Africa, Grahamstown. It is the biggest annual celebration of the arts on the African continent, attracting more than 200,000 visitors in 11 days. The festival is committed to stay open to all, promote diverse artistic expressions and facilitate international exchange. Ashraf Johaardien aims to identify potential artists to invite to the festival, particularly related to the digital arts.

Keituletse Gwangwa and/or Ashraf Johaardien will visit Musicians without Borders (ART27), Het Huis, Casco Art Institute, LKCA, Het Nieuwe Instituut, Creative Industries Fund, Dutch Performing Arts and others.
