On this page you will find information about consequences of the coronavirus for international cooperation with Morocco.

Last update: 31January 2021

General situation

  • All Moroccan borders will be reopened from the 7th of February 2022.
  • Authorities have introduced a vaccine pass to access public and private spaces.
  • There are different COVID-19 requirements to enter Morocco, depending on the country you're travelling from. You must also present a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test taken in the 48 hours before entry.
  • The most recent information and figures about the COVID-19 coronavirus in Morocco can be found on the following website of the Moroccan government in Arabic, Tamazight and French.
  • The expected impact of the crisis on the Moroccan economy is significant. The Ministry of Economy and Finance has set up a Comité de Veille Économique that has taken various measures for Moroccan workers (in the formal and informal sector) and companies.

Cultural & creative sector

  • With regard to the art and culture sector, it is still unclear what the consequences will be. In June 2020 the Moroccan minister announced a support program for Moroccan cultural institutions and artists to alleviate the impact of the crisis. Since then there is no news from supporting programs from the governmental side. The Covid crisis has an enormous impact on the Moroccan cultural and creative sector which is struggling hard.
  • Slowly cultural activities in Morocco are starting again following distancing measures. Some activities have been organized on digital platforms. One example is the music festival Visa for Music.
  • Museums and galleries are open respecting to the Covid measures. See also current info museums.
