Funding for Dutch writers who wish to develop their artistic and entrepreneurial skills

The Dutch Foundation for Literature is the national fund for Dutch literature, based in Amsterdam (Netherlands). The fund is one of the 6 national cultural funds in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Through this development grant, the Dutch Foundation for Literature invests in the artistic and entrepreneurial skills of writers. With this grant, a writer can choose a form of education, coaching, or guidance that fits their professional development at that moment. Travel or accommodation expenses for study purposes abroad (such as in a writer's residency) can be covered with this grant.

A maximum of € 2,500.

Requirements
  • Only writers who received a project grant for publications from the same Dutch Fund for Literature are eligble;
  • The writer presents convincing and realistic professional development goals in the application. These goals an be related to acquiring knowledge or developing skills for the literary project the writer is working on, as well as the development of general professional skills or knowledge related to artistic practice.
  • The writers’ income is lower than the income limit set by the fund (published on its website).
