Dutch Foundation for Literature & Passa Porta: Writer-in-residence programme

Nederlands Letterenfonds & Passa Porta: Writer-in-residenceprogramma
Funded residency for literary writers and translators

The Dutch Foundation for Literature is one of the 6 national cultural funds in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Passa Porta is the international house of literature in Brussels (Belgium) with a writers' residence, a literary salon, a multilingual bookstore, a reading, discussion, and meeting corner, and a space for workshops.

Each year, both organisations exchange an author for a residency opportunity in Belgium and the Netherlands. Passa Porta selects a Flemish author for a residency in Amsterdam, and the Dutch Foundation for Literature selects a Dutch author for a residency in Brussels. In 2024, author Emma van Meijeren is Passa Porta's guest. Previous residents include hRudi Meulemans, Lies Van Gasse, Jeroen Olyslaegers, Maud Vanhauwaert, Tom Struyf, Roderik Six, Peter Terrin, Anne Provoost, Saskia de Coster, and Max Greyson.
