Dutch Foundation for Literature: Travel Costs
The Dutch Foundation for Literature is the national fund for Dutch literature, based in Amsterdam (Netherlands). The fund is one of the 6 national cultural funds in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Through this travel grant, the fund aims to contribute to the international promotion of Dutch-, Frisian, Papiamentu or Papiamento-language authors. The grant will cover the travel expenses of the invited author(s) who participate in literary programmes, public events or other activities aimed at promoting their work in translation outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Literary publishers, festivals, literary organisations, and universities that wish to invite an author from the Kingdom of the Netherlands for a public literary event for a recently translated title.
A maximum of € 3,000,-
- At least one translation of the author must have been published recently in book form by a publishing house in the country or language area in question and still be in print;
- the author will give a reading or a workshop, or take part in other activities that require his or her presence;
- The promotional activities concerned such as a reading or a workshop must be public in nature, taking place onstage or at festivals;
- The foreign organisation or publishing house must cover all other costs, such as accommodation, meals, and remuneration.
