Funding for Dutch cultural projects in Belgium or Dutch-Belgian co-projects

Each year, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brussels organises multiple open calls for subsidy applications for Dutch-Belgian or Dutch artistic and cultural projects in Belgium. These projects should contribute to strengthening the cultural and artistic profile of the Netherlands in Belgium and promoting collaboration between the two countries.

All artistic disciplines are eligible, with special attention given to:
- Performing arts
- Contemporary visual arts
- Creative industries (especially architecture, design, fashion, and digital art)
- Cultural heritage
- Multidisciplinary projects

The embassy also welcomes projects focused on:
- Innovative (presentation) formats and methods
- Cross-border cultural exchanges
- Participation, inclusion, equal rights, and sustainability

Only professional creators, organisations, institutions, and legal entities in Belgium with a company registration number.

For what
Project
Travel

The subsidy only covers costs related to the Dutch participation in the project. Eligible expenses include:
- Travel and accommodation costs for Dutch participants
- (Art) transport costs for the Dutch component of the project
- Production costs related to the Dutch aspect of the project
- Communication costs for the Dutch segment of the project

How much

A maximum of € 5,000.

Requirements

The embassy supports Dutch-Belgian or Dutch artistic and cultural projects in Belgium that:
- Strengthen the cultural and artistic profile of the Netherlands in Belgium.
- Promote cooperation between the Netherlands and Belgium.
- Are accessible to the public (e.g., personal development projects are not eligible).

Projects must take place in Belgium, unless it involves a virtual collaboration. Special attention is given to projects in:
- Wallonia
- The Euregio Meuse-Rhine
