Netherlands Embassy in Belgium: Open call for support

Netherlands Embassy in Belgium: Open call for support

Nederlandse Ambassade in België: Open call voor subsidieaanvragen
Funding for Dutch cultural projects in Belgium or Dutch-Belgian co-projects

Every year, the Dutch Embassy in Brussels organises multiple open calls for grant applications. A grant can be applied for Dutch cultural projects in Belgium or Dutch-Belgian partner projects.

The embassy supports cultural projects by professional artists, makers and organisations. All disciplines are welcome, however, there will be a focus on projects relating to visual art, performing arts, cultural heritage, and creative industries (especially fashion, architecture and design). Multidisciplinary projects are very welcome too, as well as projects focusing on participation, inclusion and cross-border exchange. Cultural projects in the whole of Belgium can be supported, in particular those taking place in Wallonia and the Euregion.

Project

A grant covers only costs related to the Dutch participation in the project.
The project partners can apply for travel and accommodation costs of Dutch participants, communication, (art) transport, and production costs.

How much

A maximum of 5,000.

A financial contribution from the Dutch diplomatic representation is always supportive. This means that a project must be viable even without this support. Therefore, there must also be a contribution from the organizing Belgian institution or legal entity.

Requirements

The project must

  • contribute to strengthening the cultural profile of the Netherlands in Belgium and the collaboration between the two countries;
  • be developed by at least one Belgian and one Dutch partner, each having a clear role within the project;
  • take place on Belgian soil, unless it involves virtual collaboration;
  • be publicly accessible;
  • be organised by professional organizations or legal entities.
