Working visit to Brazil

Marjan Hammersma, Director-General for Culture and Media from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, is leading the working visit. The Dutch Embassies in Brazil and Het Nieuwe Instituut are also involved.

Round table sessions about the education of the visual arts and the creative industries are an important part of this working visit. These sessions are taking place in cooperation with local partners from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Het Nieuwe Instituut is hosting the round table on the creative industries. The Dutch institutions get to meet their local counterparts to share knowledge and discuss ideas about how to work more closely together.

Dutch organisations taking part include: Design Academy Eindhoven, BNO, the Dutch Game Association and the Reinwardt Academie. This working visit is part of a bid to intensify the cultural relationship between Brazil and the Netherlands. DutchCulture helps to strengthen this relationship by inviting professionals from the culture sector from Brazil to the Netherlands every year for the Visitors Programme.
