Culture Talk: architectural archives in South Africa
On 4 July at DutchCulture (Amsterdam), our guests will discuss the challenges they are facing regarding the conservation, managing, indexing and digitizing of historical architectural archives, as well as making these archives publically accessible. Digitization and access to the general public are focal points of the heritage policy of the Netherlands.
Our guests are Ms Yolanda Meyer, manager of the Transnet Heritage Library; Ms Bongi Mphuti, senior librarian at Architecture and Built Environment Library of University of the Witwatersrand; Mr Johan Swart, lecturer and curator of the Architecture Archives of the University of Pretoria; and Mr Alexio Motsi, deptury director of preservation at the National Archives of South Africa.
