ANV Funds Foundation: Visser-Neerlandia Prize for Screenplay
The ANV (Algemeen Nederlands Verbond) is an association dedicated to fostering the development of the Dutch language and cultural community worldwide, promoting cultural integration between the Netherlands and Flanders, and maintaining ties with the related Afrikaans language and its associated cultural communities.
Under its umbrella, the ANV manages the ANV Funds Foundation, which provides financial support for activities and projects aligned with the organisation's goals. It is within this framework that the ANV Funds Foundation annually hosts the Visser-Neerlandia Prize for Screenwriting.
Dutch-speaking screenwriters worldwide, most often working in countries and territories where Dutch is (one of) the official language(s): the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten), Flanders (Belgium) and Surinam.
The prize for the winner is € 7,500.
- The submission must consist of an elaborate screenplay for feature film of at least 75 to maximum 120 pages, provided with a logline of three lines and a synopsis of at most one A4;
- The original work written in the Dutch language may not be a translation or adaptation of a novel, play, etc.;
- The entry may not have received more than a subsidy for screenplay development from the Dutch Film Fund and screenplay support from the Flemish Audiovisual Fund;
- A maximum of one submission per participant. A submission from multiple participants is possible;
- The texts may not mention the name of the author(s) or the title of the screenplay.
