Funding for organising an international film meeting

The Netherlands Film Fund is the national cultural fund for the professional, independent film sector in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. It provides financial support for the development, production and distribution of film productions and film-related activities.

The Film Meeting Scheme is aimed at organising film-related events that strengthen the professional film sector. The purpose of the gathering is to enhance the expertise and network of Dutch film professionals and promote the profile of film in the Netherlands by encouraging knowledge exchange, innovation, and/or diversity.

You can apply for a contribution for a national or international gathering. An international film meeting, is a presentation or promotional activity focused on the Dutch film sector. These events target film professionals and aim to encourage international co-production and promote the Dutch film industry abroad.

Organisations

A legal entity (not a sole proprietorship or VOF) within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, specialised in the field of film. This organisation is responsible for organising film gatherings and has a proven track record in doing so.

The contribution for an international film meeting is determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the extent to which other parties provide financial support.

Requirements
  • The application is submitted at least six weeks before the event;
  • The event is a presentation or promotional activity focused on the Dutch film sector;
  • The objective is to promote international co-production and the Dutch film industry abroad;
  • The event
    • is non-profit;
    • involves collaboration with other professional organizations and international partners;
    • is co-financed by at least two (inter)national professional partners;
    • is public and accessible to the audience;
    • is primarily intended for film professionals;
    • attracts sufficient international interest from both existing and new film professionals, nationally and internationally;
    • makes a demonstrable contribution to the Dutch film industry or production sector;
    • focuses on professional development and expanding the network of Dutch film professionals.
