The Netherlands is home to a vibrant film industry with an open attitude towards international co-production.
The Netherlands Film Fund is the national agency responsible for supporting film production in the Netherlands and activities such as festival and training. Its focus is to develop and strengthen Dutch cinema and film culture both domestically and internationally. The Film Fund strives to intensify international collaboration through stimulating international co-production, the international export of Dutch films and the development of talent through training in an international context.
The Film Fund's budget is provided by the Government. It operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and receives most of its funds on the basis of four-year policy plans.
